Chief Executive Officer
Hey! My name is Emily, I am 20 and I am the founder of TWE!
I am a fun, creative person who is very passionate about everything I do, including TWE!
I set up TWE when I was 16 to create a safe space for teenagers to feel less alone and be able to reach out to others like them. I am very proud of how much it has grown and how supportive the community is.
My Favourite Articles:
1) I am often referred to as a "fan-girl", I tend to get overwhelmed and excited about celebrities easily and have participated in STAN culture, seeing the good and the evil side of it. That's why I like Jazz's Article When Does 'Stan' Culture Become Toxic?. Her article resonates a lot with me and my own personal experience in this "culture". I think its an education article that calls out people who take it too far, to the point of mean and obsessive.
2) I find myself too often watching a new series, listening to new music or reading a new book and being so effected by the characters and themes it has that my own moods and personality changes. For example, watching a kid-friendly happy TV show bounces off myself and I too become happy, if a show is serious and sad, I find myself becoming reclusive like the characters. That's why Jazz's article The influence of TV characters. Her article demonstrates a way to positively use these inspirations and influences in a healthy way to better your work and life.
3) A third article I found very useful and informative was Hannah's The House Is On Fire. Her article summarised what is happening in the world in terms of climate and change and what our generation is doing to stop it. It highlights how much of an impact Generation Z can make and how even one person such as Greta Thunberg can make a big impact.
