WaniawriterA Law graduate who has a passion for creative writing, social justice & issues that impact our generation. I have a great interest in charity work & this organisation took my interest. I’ve always wanted to help people in some way & being offered a trial position is very exciting because I enjoy writing and now I have the potential to write pieces that can help young people understand certain topics or relate to.

My Top 3 Articles
Article 1: The Good Place By guest writer Hannah
I enjoyed this review because I interpreted the show and the characters exactly the same as Hannah. Especially her interpretation of ‘Chidi’ and how refreshing it is to have a character as unique and self aware as he was. Chidi was someone who was constantly aware of his actions and morals, it is rare to find characters like him in movies or shows. Reading the article made me realise that although it was a very light hearted show, it had deep themes running throughout that really boggled your mind and made you think about life after death, great review.
2nd Article: Ways you can help the black lives matter movement
I have been raising awareness to the black lives matter movement on my social media and this article is very helpful because it encourages others who want to do something but don’t know where to start to take the first step. Especially the second part of the article “have the talk” which is incredibly important, we must have these conversations with our families and friends, change starts at home.
Article 3: How OCD Changed Me - By Jazz
This article was informative, since Lock-down I have discovered something about myself that I find difficult to deal with and is related to this condition ‘OCD’. When I read her experiences and how it shaped her, it made me realise that I am not alone and “your disorder doesn’t define you” which often makes those suffering with it, feel like it does, but it does not. I especially felt empowered by the last part of the article “I refuse to be Jazz, the girl with OCD” and she goes on to express how her interest and her hobbies are the things that define her and that she is in control, not out of control.
