All I know now after reading all I know now

I am a total bookworm. I read all sorts of books and my high school English teacher said I was her favourite because she loved having someone who appreciated the arts and literature like I did. I love books.

One book which I absolutely adore is All I Know Now by Carrie Hope Fletcher. All I Know Now is a book written about Carrie’s teen and YA experiences. She talks about friends, bullying, love, the Internet, general people in society, dreams, happiness, parents, choices and pretty much everything else under the sun that you as a young person could deal with. In her own words, she’s become somewhat of an honorary big sister for hundreds of thousands of people on the Internet through her video ramblings and so this book is like a manual of all her stupid mistakes and the lessons she’s learnt. She’s giving people the chance to seek help without having to ask for it.

Carrie Hope Fletcher is an English singer, songwriter, author, actress, musician, blogger and YouTuber all rolled in to one small 5’5” package. She has had roles in many musical theatre pieces such as Eponine in Les Miserables in the West End, Truly Scrumptious in the UK tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and most recently Wednesday Addams in the UK tour of The Addams Family. She also performed in her brother’s production of The Christmasaurus and has recently been announced to be playing Veronica Sawyer in Heathers at The Other Palace, London, and Beth in the War of the Worlds tour. She has over 651,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel, formerly known as ItsWayPastMyBedtime, and 98,000 subscribers on her second channel, TwentyThirtyTwo. She has released one fiction book in 2015 and two non fiction books in 2016/17 with her third fiction novel being released in July 2018.

Praise for Carrie Hope Fletcher and All I Know Now:
‘Oh, what a fantastic book – so honest, so brilliant, so KIND. If every mum or dad buys this for their teenager they’ll be doing themselves a real favour – everyone will benefit, I promise!’

‘Carrie has written the ultimate life survival guide for teens and beyond!’

‘All I Know Now... it’s super mega awesome.’
‘Young, fab and incredibly talented, I think I manage to keep my massive jealousy of Carrie Hope Fletcher just about under control.’

I read this book about a year and a half after it came out and I really enjoyed it. Carrie’s writing style was friendly, comforting and like talking to someone you’ve known for years. It really put through and translated that big sister vibe Carrie has from her videos in to writing. I liked how she incorporated her acting background in to her writing by calling each chapter and act and each subsection a scene with an overture at the beginning and a finale at the end rather than a prologue and an epilogue. This book was different, unique and like a breath of fresh air.  It was engaging and interesting too, informative without the boredom you sometimes feel with fiction books and self help autobiographies.

Out of 5:  🌟🌟🌟🌟
