6 Pieces of makeup I can't live without

26/6/2018

Walking into a drug store or a make-up shop can be overwhelming. All the brand stands shining in front of you like celebrities in your face. Knowing what is best for your skin and what brand the best to be by also can be quite stressful.

How do I know?

Well, I see a lot of people who need help and advice weekly. Working at Superdrug has definitely given me the experience of knowing what is best and what isn’t and knowing how certain products suit certain skin types.

This could be done just as simple as swatching on your hand or you can with some samples actually try on your face. My advice though is if you want to try mascara or eyeliner or anything for the eye in fact, a lot of drug stores don’t actually allow you to trial them out before you buy so make sure you’ve read reviews before buying. You want to make the most out of your money.

Now let’s get on to the important stuff.
Below are 6 items of make-up I can’t live without. They are my daily essentials and a lot of them I carry around with me (just in case!!).

My first item is the Collection Eyebrow Kit Palette which is £3.99 from Superdrug (You might find a lot I recommend are Superdrug products but if you look online, I’m sure they would be sold elsewhere). This product is probably one of the best products you can use for your eyebrows especially if you are just starting out with makeup. It’s affordable and really gives a good result. The product comes in two shades (Brown and Blonde) so you can match it with your hair colour and has 3 brow shadow colours, a double sided brush and a clear brow mascara to finish your look. I absolutely love this and would recommend it to anyone.

My second item is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer which is £4.19 (I really don’t understand the odd change in the pricing) from Superdrug again. There was a massive craze about this concealer not long ago and I thought I would try it out. The coverage for this concealer is amazing especially if you suffer with acne or sensitive skin. It also hides dark circles under the eyes significantly well. Again, I would totally recommend to anyone seeming that it is an affordable price. The only downside to it is that it doesn’t last long being such a small package so if you buy, I would recommend buying two.

My third item is the Makeup Revolution Foundation Stick priced at £5 from Superdrug. This foundation stick comes in 18 shades and has a great coverage for blemishes and spots. I would recommend this one to people with normal skin only because the product is quite thick and I don’t think it would go well with dry skin. However, it is a hydrating product so definitely worth a try. Again, this product was another massive craze and I thought I would give it a try.

My fourth item is the Lip Creme Gloss by Kiko Milano priced at £7. My friend recommended to me Kiko Milano when we were on a trip to Brighton and the store was amazing and had so many deals! I would totally recommend Kiko to anyone and I think it will be on the rise soon enough. I really love this product because of the creamy feel you get from the lip gloss and I feel it would work with any type of makeup and lip tone. They also have a range of over 20+ shades. If you wanted a dupe of this product however, I would look at the Revlon Lip Creams or the Elf Cosmetics Lip Glosses from Superdrug again.

My fifth item is the Collection Trio Nudes Contour Palette from Superdrug again priced at £4.99. This product and a lot of the products I have recommended within this article I found from Roxxsaurus’ Collection YouTube video (She’s excellent, I would recommend looking her up). She tried this product and I really liked the finished look it gave on Roxy as well as the design of the actual palette itself. I would recommend this product again for all skin types especially those just trying out with makeup. It’s definitely worth it.

My sixth and final product is my favourite mascara out of all of the mascaras I have tried previous to this one I had bought 6 months ago (That included most benefit mascaras). It is… the Maybelline Angel Wings Lash Mascara which is from Superdrug (You can get it in Boots also) priced at £7.99. Despite being a bit pricey compared to other drugstore mascaras, I would give this one a total recommend because it makes you look like you are wearing false lashes… without the false lashes. I like the finish of it especially when I saw Gigi Hadid wearing it in the adverts. I knew then I just had to try it and I’m so glad I did. I recommend this to everyone at work.

So there you have it, my top 6 pieces of make-up I can’t live without.

Remember that what I have recommended might or might not work with your skin type but that’s okay because everyone is different. It may not work for your style of make-up either. However, if you do walk into a drug store and not know what to do, always ask a sales advisor, they’ll be able to help you.
