Having personality issues can be a living hell. One minute, you're happy and smiling, the next you're questioning if your life has any actual substance. I know how that feels. These episodes have no triggers, so you never know they're coming.
If you struggle with these, Im here to help you cope with them. I've only just got a handle on mine, but i hope these will help. 1. Repeat facts you know to be true. I for example would do this; My name is Beth, I am 15, I live in the UK, I have brown eyes, I have brown hair, I have a brother, Things like this help you ground yourself. The battling personalities cannot argue with true facts. 2. Distract yourself. I know you've heard this before from therapist, parents etc. I don't mean break out the distraction list (though this should be your first port of call). Make yourself a hot drink, have a nice bath, sing a song. Like when people around you argue, block it out. 3. Be logical. Why should you listen to this argument? It's silly. I'm not interested in what either of them have to say. Things like this can have a placebo effect on the mind. The more you distract yourself and convince yourself you don't care, the more likely it will go away quickly. Because remember, it WILL go away.
