This may be a difficult topic for some people, but I will be writing about how it feels to lose a loved one and ways to help deal with it.
It is very common to lose a loved one, whether it’s a parent, friends, or even a pet, you will be affected in some way. I cannot stress enough that everyone deals with things differently, some may want to stay in when they lose a loved one, however some people find that it helps to go out often and keep social, whatever you do it is always hard to get by. There are so many organizations and charities, especially for young people, to help them through the difficult time, some of which I attend. Where I live there is an organization called F.I.G. (families in grief) and they organize days out, activities and experiences for families who have lost a loved one. It is a group where many others attend and all of a sudden you are surrounded by all of these people who are going through the same as you, you don’t feel so alone and you realize that although it may not seem like it you may be able to get through the pain and grief of losing someone close to you. I recommend looking into these types of charities and organizations. Counseling is also an option if you struggle. I have counseling and at first you feel stupid and annoyed because you have a middle aged woman asking you how you feel every other day. But then you realize that these people want to help you and it doesn’t get so bad. J If you currently feel isolated or alone after loosing a loved one then take it from me, IT DOES GET EASIER! Although it may not seem like that at the moment and you feel like nothing will ever get easier, it does eventually. Anna
