internet friends

Hi my name is Sydney, I'm 12 yrs. old, Ever since Internet was created, our parents always told us that there's scary people on the Internet and that there weirdos and strangers. But one thing our parents forgot to tell us was we could meet the best thing that ever happen to us, a true friend. I'm not saying go friend every profile you see because technically speaking our parents are right, not everybody on social media are who they say they are, but that's for another story. I went around Facebook asking young girls on how they met their internet friend online and how it's been for the past few months. This is what they had to say.

Hello, my name is Wendy and I'm 15 yrs. old. There's a group called MagCon Mexico, I'm in there. I posted a Hayes video and one girl commented "Can you send me the video" so I sent her the video. She asked me about my Twitter then we started to talk daily. I'm planning to meet her over the summer vacations (July lol). -Wendy, age 15

Hey, my name is Jade, I’m 14 yrs. old. My internet friend, she was in 5sos group (Five Seconds of summer) with many other people and posted something about a group of hers that is about Cameron Dallas and wanted people to join it. I asked to join and she added me. Then she messaged me and we worked on a fan fiction together for a while, we found out we had a lot in common. We were best friends for about two months and she became my girlfriend, so we've been friends for a long time. I'm hopefully planning to meet her in the summer. -Jade, age 14

Hi, my name is Kiara and I'm 15 yrs. old turning 16 in a few weeks. I met my internet friend on a Austin Mahone fan page, we like randomly started talking. This was in 2015. We talked a lot and we told each other almost everything. We talked about meeting each other and how I was going to her state for a school friend trip. We though that say was a so far away and all but we wanted to meet each other. One day her and I got into a fight in a group chat with my two other friends and stopped talking. We stopped talking for a while. And a while ago she texted me saying sorry about how she drifted apart from me. Things got better from there, we started talking about how I'm going to San Diego in this April of 2016 where we can meet up. We definitely had our ups and downs but nothing can break us apart and we are still friends after all. That's all that matters. Kiara, age 15

Those are some examples of girls who met their best friend online and how it changed their life forever, if it can happen to them, it could happen to you
